James and Chloe Lusted, a British couple have set a Guinness World Record for greatest height differential of a married couple. The wife is nearly 2 feet taller than the husband.
The couple married in 2016 and broke the record for the greatest height differential of a married couple (different sexes/taller woman) on June 2.
James is 109.3 centimetres tall (3 feet 7 inches) and Chloe is 166.1 centimetres tall (5 feet 5.4 inches). The difference in their heights is 1 foot 10 inches.
James suffers from Diastrophic Dysplasia, one of the rarest types of dwarfism that affects bones and cartilage development.
Talking to Guinness World Records, James said, ” Being 3 ft 7 is tricky sometimes. But I can do everything you can do, just in a different way.” At one point of time, I told myself that dwarfism doesn’t own him, but I own my dwarfism. I just wanted to be the same as everyone else and live my life in a big way, in a little body, he said.
Chloe, whose type had always been taller men, changed after she met James in 2012. She said, “Honestly, I did have fears about how people would react. I definitely think there is someone out there for everyone. Perhaps not who you would imagine.”
James and Chloe decided to give their love a chance at the end of 2013, despite the doubts about the challenges they might face in a relationship.
James proposed to Chloe at a lake in north Wales after seven months.
The couple is now married for five years now and they have a two-year-old daughter named Olivia.
