Court awards life imprisonment to man convicted of retd. judicial officer’s murder

Bengaluru: The 62nd Sessions Court has awarded a life imprisonment sentence to a man convicted of murdering a retired judicial officer.
The convicted Ramanjaneya, a native of Andhra Pradesh was employed as a domestic help at the residence of the victim, Raghavendra, aged 70 then.
Case details:
Raghavendra had employed Ramanjaneya for cleaning chores at his residence in Banashankari on a weekly basis. On December 17, 2014, he arrived at Raghavendra’s house at 8 pm and hit him on the head with a hammer.
When Raghavendra’s wife Sudha came to his rescue, the accused hit her too and snatched a gold chain, weighing 30 grams, and fled the spot.
Chennammanakere Achukattu Police Station investigated the case and filed a charge sheet.
The court after hearing the evidence and held the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
