Court denies bail to Kundapur man who hailed Pakistan

Kundapur: The local court here on Wednesday, March 18 denied bail to Raghavendra Ganiga who was found to be raising pro-Pakistani slogans repeatedly at the Mini Vidhana Soudha recently.

Raghavendra’s advocate on the basis that the accused is mentally unsound pleaded the judge to grant bail, meanwhile, Assistant public prosecutor Sumangala Naik, objecting bail the said that the charges against the accused are of serious nature, and felt that it would not be possible to grant him bail on the basis of the report from the district surgeon.

She further added that the medical officer who issued the report should be examined first.

However, the court after rejecting the bail application and ordered the officials to admit Raghavendra into NIMHANS for treatment.
