Court dismisses bail plea of Pavithra Gowda in Renukaswamy murder case

Bengaluru: The bail plea of Pavithra Gowda, the prime accused (A1) in the Renukaswamy murder case, was dismissed by the court on Saturday, August 31.

Pavithra Gowda and Anukumar (A7), who are in judicial custody related to the Renukaswamy case, had applied for bail. The court conducted a hearing on their bail pleas and subsequently dismissed them.

Earlier, on August 28, the court had conducted a hearing on the bail plea and reserved its order for Saturday. The 57th City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru dismissed the bail plea as expected.

Advocate Tommy Sebastian argued on behalf of Pavithra Gowda.

With the dismissal of the bail plea, Pavithra Gowda, the prime accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, will remain in jail.

Pavithra Gowda, along with 17 others, has been in judicial custody for almost two months in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case. The second accused (A2), actor Darshan, was transferred to Ballari Jail.

The police have reportedly obtained crucial evidence related to the case and are preparing to submit a 4,000-page charge sheet soon.
