Covid 19: 194 new cases, 183 discharges & 6 fatalities reported in DK

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district reported 194 new cases of coronavirus, 183 discharges and six deaths on Saturday, August 8.

Out of the 7,075 total cases in the district, 3,374 cases are active while 3,487 have been discharged. The death toll in the district stands at 214.

Of the 194 cases reported today, 129 cases are from Mangaluru itself followed by Belthangady and Puttur with 16 cases each, Bantwal 15, Sullia 7 and 11 from other districts.

The new cases include 98 ILI cases, 12 SARI cases, 15 primary contacts of those infected earlier. Source of infection for 69 persons is being traced.
