Covid 19: 248 positive cases today; interstate travellers account for 227 cases

Bengaluru: Seventy new cases of coronavirus has been confirmed in Karnataka since noon to 5 pm on May 29 evening, the health department said in its media bulletin.
A total of 248 positive cases, 60 discharges and a death has been reported in the last 24 hours.
Till date 2781 cases have been confirmed including 894 discharges and 48 coronavirus related deaths. Presently 1837 cases are active.
Of the 248 cases reported today, 227 are interstate travellers, mostly from Maharashtra and one passenger has a international travel history.
Three districts accounted for as many as 183 positive cases today. These are Raichur 62 cases, Kalaburagi 61, Yadagir 60. Udupi accounted for 15 cases, Bengaluru 12 cases, Ballari 9, Chikkaballarpura 5, Davangere, Hassan and Vijaypura reported four cases each; Mandya, Mysuru, Tumkuru and Chikkamagaluru reported two cases each. One case each is reported from Dharwad, Chitradurga, Shivamogga and Bengaluru Rural.
A 50-year-old female patient from Chikkaballarpura succumbed to the infection today.
