Covid-19: 311 new cases in DK, Udupi reports 84 cases

Mangaluru: The number of coronavirus cases and fatalities in Dakshina Kannada district is increasing by the day. On July 17, the district has reported the biggest single-day leap of 311 cases, taking tally of infected persons to 3,074.

Eight more Covid-19 related fatality were reported in Dakshina Kannada taking the death toll to 71. This includes 12 patients from other districts.

Out of the total positive cases, 1,278 persons have been discharged after treatment including 115 discharges today. Presently 1,725 cases are active in the district.

A total of 26,242 have been tested so far and 23,168 of this were found to be negative.

In Udupi too as many as 84 positive cases were detected today. Out of the total 1,979 positive cases in the district 1,543 persons have been discharged while 439 persons are undergoing treatment.

Till date a total of 23,858 swab samples have been collected and 21,645 were found to be negative. Test reports of 414 samples is awaited.
