COVID-19: 38 BBMP wards declared hotspots

Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has identified 38 of 198 wards as hotspots zone in the city based on at least one positive COVID-19 case in the past 28 days.
The ward-wise hotspots include, Thanisandra, Byatarayanapura, Radhakrishna Temple area, Ganganagar, Horamavu, Ramamurthynagar, Aramanenagar, Lingarajapuram, Hoodi, CV Raman Nagar, Maruthisevanagar, Ramaswamypalya, Nagapura, Garudacharpalya, Hagadur, Jeevanbhimanagar, Vasanthnagar, Subashnagar, Shivanagar, Sampangiramanagar, Sudhamanagar, Hosahalli, Nagarbhavi, Attiguppe, Bapujinagar, JJ Nagar, Azad Nagar, Adugodi, Varthur, Suddaguntepalya, Girinagar, Karisandra, Gurappanapalya, Madivala, JP Nagar, Shakambarinagar, Singasandra and Begur.
As on April 14, South zone has the highest number of hotspot wards with 12, followed by East zone with 9 wards, and West zone with 7 wards. Meanwhile, Mahadevapura zone has 6 hotspots and Bommanahalli and Yelahanka wards have two each.
However, no wards under Dasarahalli and Rajarajeshwarinagar zones have been declared as hotspots.
So far 260 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the State and it includes 10 deaths and 71 discharges.
