Mangaluru: While celebrities and corporate houses have been making contributions to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, a 5-year-old boy from Mangaluru has set an example by coming forward to donate the whole amount deposited in his piggy bank to fight COVID-19.
A student of Yenepoya Montessori school, Rehaman handed over the money from his piggy bank which he has been saving for years to Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Rooper on Thursday.
Rehaman informed his parents that he would like to donate the money he has collected to help those who are suffering because of the COVID-19 outbreak, surprised and happy by the 5-year-old’s decision his parents brought him to DC’s office and made him hand over the money to Sindhu Roopesh.
Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Roopesh too appreciated Rehman and thanked him for his donation to fight COVID-19.
