COVID-19: Amid rising cases, SIT halts probe in CD case

Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team probing the sex video case allegedly involving MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi has decided to temporarily halt their probe for varied reasons.

The main reason being the spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the city and officers being assigned for COVID-19 duty.

Another reason is that the two main alleged kingpins in the case – Naresh Gowda and Shravan – are yet to be apprehended without whom the probe cannot move forward.

Jarkiholi was summoned by the SIT to appear before them two weeks ago. However, the MLA was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 and has not turned up after being discharged.

SIT officials have stated that more evidence is needed to be collected in the case for which more time is required.
