Chikmagalur: Tourism Minister C T Ravi has appealed to people, especially those from Bengaluru, not to make a travel plan to districts like Chikmagalur, Kodagu, and adjoining hilly districts.
After Unlock 1.0, most of the homestays, resorts, and hotels reopened, as a result, a hill station in Chikmagalur, Kodagu, and Hassan attracted tourists from various parts of the state, especially from Bengaluru, resulting in increase of COVID-19 cases in these regions.
It may be recalled that following the increase in footfall, Chikkamagaluru district administration had issued an advisory to people to cancel their tour plans.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Bagadi Gautham noted that many were visiting Mullayyana Giri, Baba Budangiri, and Seethalayyana Giri areas.
