Covid-19: DK tally rises to 4811 with 199 new cases, Udupi reports 169 cases

Mangaluru: The total tally of coronavirus positive cases in Dakshina Kannada rose to 4,811 with further 199 persons testing positive for the infection on Sunday, July 26.

Out of the total positive cases, 2,217 patients have been discharged after treatment including 90 discharges today. Presently 2,471 cases are active in the district.

Till date, 33,649 samples have been tested and 28,838 of this are found to be negative.

The new cases includes 31 primary contacts of those infected earlier, 73 ILI cases, 10 SARI cases and 2 international travellers. The source of infection for 83 other persons is being probed. Meanwhile eight more persons succumbed to the infection.

In Udupi further 169 cases took tally of those infected to 3,387. Of this 2,122 persons have been discharged and 1,251 cases are active.
