COVID-19 hospitalisations rise by 51% from last week in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Coronavirus hospitalizations in Bengaluru rose by 51% in the week till September 4 as compared to the week prior, according to BBMP data.
This breaks the trend of a drop in hospitalizations under the Karnataka government quota in Bengaluru over the last three weeks, reported The News Minute. A total of 124 hospitalizations were done in a week till September 4.
Also, the number of tests conducted in Bengaluru dropped below the 4 lakh mark (for the week) for the first time in more than seven weeks. While 4,13,519 tests were conducted between August 22 and 28, a total of 3,92,430 samples were tested between August 29 and September 4.
However, the number of vaccines administered daily in the city has increased. In the week ending September 4, Bengaluru administered 92,000 plus vaccine doses more than the previous week. While the number of vaccines given in the week ending September 4 was 8,06,802, the number of jabs given the previous week was 7,14,673, which is a 12.89% increase.
