Mangaluru: A Twitter campaign #KarnatakawithKasargodu has been started by PLE Karnataka urging chief minister BS Yediyurappa to dedicate one hospital in Mangaluru for residents of Kasaragod.
Pointing out that Kasargod was left out of Karnataka due to a historical blunder, the twitter handle of PLE (Promoting Linguistic Equality) on April 1 says that Kasargod residents are our own people and we must now work towards merging Kasargod with Karnataka once the coronavirus pandemic is tackled.
Request @CMofKarnataka to dedicate one private hospital in Mangaluru for serving ppl of Kasargodu.
They are our own ppl, they got separated from Karnataka because of a historical blunder. Lets work towards merging Kasargodu with Karnataka post #Covid19.#KarnatakaWithKasargodu

“Dear Kannadigas & Tuluvas, time to show our care & support for our people in Kasargodu. Please use the hashtag #KarnatakaWithKasargodu & request @CMofKarnataka to care for Kasargodu,” read one of the tweet.

The Twitter campaign comes alongside two campaigns both of a different nature but with Kasargodu as the focal point.
#SaveKarnataka campaign has been trending on Twitter with local BJP MLAs calling out Pinarayi Vijayan for boasting about the hospital standards in Kerala while Kasargod residents are relying on Mangaluru for healthcare facilities.
Concerns over the rising covid 19 cases in Kasargod led the district administration to sealing its borders with Kerala. No vehicles, including ambulances are being allowed entry into Mangaluru in order to contain spread of coronavirus.
Meanwhile the other campaigns #MakeUTofKasargod and #FreeKasargodfromKL has been started by Kasargod people. They have alleged lack of developmental works in the district and also inadequate efforts by Kerala government to contain coronavirus cases.
