Covid 19: Karnataka Gram Panchayat elections postponed

Bengaluru: The Gram Panchayat elections, scheduled to be held in May, has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak informed Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat KS Eshwarappa.
Speaking at a meeting here Eshwarappa said that they have written to the Election Commission in this regard. A governing body or an administrator will be appointed in the interim period, he said.
Deputy Chief Ministers Govind Karjol, Laxman Savadi, Ministers Jagadish Shettar, Kota Srinivas Poojary, JC Madhuswamy and senior officials of the Rural Development Department were also present.
