Covid 19: K’taka breaks previous days high with 1502 new cases

Bengaluru: Karnataka on Thursday recorded the biggest single day spike of 1502 new COVID-19 cases and 19 related deaths, taking the total number of infections to 18,016 and the death toll to 272, the health department said.
The day also saw 271 patients getting discharged after recovery.
Out of 1,502 fresh cases reported today, 889 cases were from Bengaluru urban alone followed by 90 cases from Dakshina Kannada.
The previous biggest single day spike was recorded yesterday with 1,272 cases.
Out of 9406 active cases, 161 patients are in ICU.
Amonf districts Mysuru reported 68 cases, Ballari 65, Dharwad 47, Vijaypura & Ramangara 39, Kalaburagi 38, Bidar 32, Tumakuru 26, Shivamogga 23, Mandya 19. Uttara Kannada 17, Hassan 15, Udupi 14, Kolar 12, Raichur 11, Bagalkote 10, Davangere 8, Yadgir & Belagavi 7 each, Kodagu 6, Bengaluru Rural 5, Haver & Koppal 4 each, Chitradurga 3, gadag 2, and one each from Chikkaballarpu and Chikkamagaluru.
