Covid 19: K’taka reports 1839 new cases, 42 deaths

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 1839 new cases of coronavirus with tally of infected rising to 21,549 in the state on July 4.

Out of the total cases, 11,966 cases are active while 9,244 persons are discharged. The death toll stands at 335, including 42 deaths today.

Majority of the cases was reported from Bengaluru with 1172 cases followed by Dakshina Kannada and Ballari with 75 and 73 cases respectively. Bidar reported 51 cases, Dharwad 45, Raichur 41, Mysuru 38, Kalaburagi & Vijaypura 37 cases each, Mandya & Uttar Kannada 35 cases each, Shivamogga 31 cases.

Udupi reported 18 cases taking tally of infected persons to 1276. Of this 1103 have been discharged and 170 cases are active.

Bengaluru tops districts in number of positive cases.
