COVID-19 lockdown: HDK launches Janata Dasoha scheme

Bengaluru: Former state chief minister HD Kumaraswamy launched the Janata Dasoha ( free food distribution) scheme in Ramanagara and Channapatna taluk from April 1.
The lockdown, which has been imposed to contain spread of coronavirus has severely affected the poor, daily wage labourers, migrant workers and destitutes.
With the intention that no one remains hungry during the lockdown period, three meals a day will be provided to thousands of those affected people under the scheme.
Kumaraswamy has directed all party legislators, including those who lost in recently held elections to launch the scheme in Ramanagara and Channapatna taluk.
Apart from this, Kumaraswamy has also decided to supply daily essentials to public in Ramanagara district, and data collation work for the same has already begun.
38 people have died and as many as 1637 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country so far. In Karnataka itself, 101 cases of coronavirus has been reported and three people have died as per last update.
