Covid-19 rules violation: Namma metro books 231 cases, collects Rs 57,750 fine

Bengaluru: In the last five days Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has booked 231 commuters and collected Rs 57,750 as fines for not maintaining social distancing or wearing face masks in Metro trains and stations in Bengaluru.
According to officials, squads comprising operations, maintenance staff and security personnel were entrusted with the job of booking violators.
Recently, the BMRCL had decided to levy a fine of Rs 250 on those who violate prescribed Covid protocols amid a surge in Covid-19 cases in the city.
