Covid norms go for a toss as huge crowd gather at Kateel Temple

Mangaluru: Despite the massive surge of Covid-19 cases, all the norms are being flouted at the Dakshin Kannada district’s Kateel Temple where various festivities are taking place.
Reportedly, no mask, social distancing or other covid appropriate behavior is being followed at Kateel Temple.
Following the incident, the concerned officials have requested the temple authorities to cancel the festivities
It is also reported that the Muzarai and district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has in fact wrote to the Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has sought relaxation of restrictions and norms amid this alarming spike of cases.
Karnataka is witnessing a major setback in terms of rising cases and death tolls while religious practices take over actual lives.
