Covid19: Karnataka reports 5172 new cases; DK, Udupi see 100+ cases each

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 5,172 coronavirus cases, 3860 discharges and 98 fatalities on Saturday, August 1.

The total tally of active cases in the state presently stands at 73,219 of which 602 are admitted in ICU. Till date, 53,648 persons have been discharged and death toll stands at 2412.

District-wise Bengaluru reported 1852 cases followed by Mysuru 365 cases, Ballari 269, Kalaburagi and Belagavi 219 each, Dharwad 184, Hassan, 146, Dakshina Kannada 139, Udupi 136 and Bagalkote 134 cases.

In Dakshina Kannada, out of total 5852 positive cases till date 2685 persons are discharged and 3008 cases are active. The death toll in district increased to 159 with six more persons succumbing to the infection today.

In Udupi, the tally of those infected rose to4491 with today’s 136 cases. Of this 2528 persons are discharged and 1928 cases are presently active.
