In a significant operation, the Women’s Protection Wing of the CCB (Central Crime Branch) raided several luxury hotels involved in prostitution rackets, rescuing several women. During the operation, nine individuals, including foreign nationals, were arrested.
The police have uncovered a human trafficking network that brought young women from foreign countries and other states under the false promise of employment. These women were then forced into prostitution in high-end hotels. Three individuals involved in this illegal trade have been taken into custody, and four women were rescued.
In a separate joint operation by the CCB and Sampigehalli police, two individuals, Subrahmanya and Mani from Madikeri, were arrested. They were allegedly luring women from foreign countries and other states with job offers and forcing them into prostitution at an apartment in Sampigehalli. Two women were rescued in this operation.
Similarly, in another case, two foreign women were trafficked under the guise of employment and confined in houses under the Ramamurthy Nagar and HAL police station limits. They were coerced into prostitution. The police rescued the two women and a child, who have been moved to an immigrant detention center in Tumakuru.
In Srinagar, based on credible information, the CCB police raided a house where prostitution activities were reportedly taking place. A foreign woman was rescued during the operation, and a case has been registered at the Hanumanth Nagar police station.
In a related development, the Bandepalya police arrested four illegal immigrants, including a woman, residing in the IDBI Layout. The accused had allegedly obtained essential documents, including PAN cards, through intermediaries. Cases have been registered at the Sargapur and Bandepalya police stations against the accused.
