Mysuru: Following incessant rains, cracks have developed on on Madikeri-Mangaluru Road at about 500 meters from the General Thimmaiah Statue and there is a danger of the land caving in.

The cracks have compelling the Kodagu District Administration to ban the movement of trucks along the road from July 13th. However, buses have been allowed to ply along this route.

The road is currently open only to light vehicular movement on one side. Henceforth, the trucks, plying towards Mangaluru are compelled to go roundabout through Charmadi Ghat via Hassan and Somwarpet to reach their destination.
