Criminal killed in encounter in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar: A wanted criminal was killed and a police personnel injured during an encounter near Falawda village here today, police said.
The encounter took place this morning in an area under the Purkazi police station, Superintendent of Police (SP), City, Ombir Singh said.
Ramesh alias Nanu was killed in the the encounter. He was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000, the officer said. Station House Officer (SHO) Vijay Singh was injured in the incident, the SP said.
The police have seized a motorcycle and a pistol. Ramesh was wanted in more than a dozen cases of loot and murder in Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur districts, the officer said.
