Ahead of the Lok Sabha and several state assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled a list of central office-bearers, featuring significant administrative changes.
In the latest reshuffle, Karnataka’s CT Ravi has been dropped from his position as the national general secretary The BJP has appointed Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the former Telangana BJP state president, as the new national general secretary.
Most of the office-bearers have been retained as vice-presidents, general secretaries and secretaries in the new list.
BL Santosh will continue in his role as the National Organizing Secretary, while Shiv Prakash has been reappointed as National Joint Organizing Secretary.
Sources indicate that CT Ravi will be appointed as the state president. The move is seen as an effort to fill the crucial position of state president, which had been a subject of discussion in recent months.
The incumbent state president, Nalin Kumar Kateel, had exceeded his official term, which ended last September, due to the upcoming elections. With the new appointment, the party aims to resolve the issue of state president and leader of the opposition, setting the stage for a smooth transition.
