CT Ravi lashes out at UT Khader over his anti-CAA comments

Bengaluru: After former minister, UT Khader warned of violence if the central government failed to reconsider its decision on CAA and NRC, Tourism Minister CT Ravi said that there was no question of granting Indian citizenship to the Pakistani relatives of the Congress MLA.

Opposing Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) UT Khader allegedly stated that the state would burn if the Centre did not withdraw both legislations.

Responding to the statement given by Khader, CT Ravi said that before giving such statements Congress MLA must keep in mind what happened after the train was set on fire in Godhra in the year 2002.

“Congress leaders are famous for setting a fire,” he added.

Meanwhile, MLA MP Renukacharya said that he would not allow Khader to enter the state assembly.

Citizenship Amendment Act makes it easier for the non-Muslim immigrants from India’s neighbours – Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan – to become citizens of India.

Though the Bill doesn’t spell it out clearly but the fact that it entitles Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians facing religious persecution in the three nations, to seek Indian citizenship, highlights the exclusion of Muslims.
