Customer escapes without paying hotel dues

Manipal: One of the leading hotels in Manipal has been duped by one of its customer who stayed at the hotel and escaped without paying the dues. He also made off with the hotel’s laptop. The hotel in question has filed a complaint in this regard with Manipal police.

Incident synopsis

Vincent John, son of Vincent Gyan Prakash, a resident of Keela Arasadi, Tutukudi in the state of Tamil Nadu had booked a room in Fortune Inn Valley View from September 19th to 24th. Hence on September 19th, he checked into the hotel at 10 am. On September 21st, Vincent took the laptop of the hotel saying that he has a meeting to attend to and left the hotel at 7.30 am, never returned.

Since September 21st, Vincent has disappeared without paying the bill amounting to Rs 29,775 and also posses the laptop of the hotel with him.

The complaint

Joseph Mathias, supervisor of Fortune Inn Valley View has filed a complaint of betrayal of trust in this regard with Manipal police. A case is registered under IPC sections 406 and 420.
