Customs Officials Seize Rs 24 Cr worth Drug in Bengaluru International Airport

Bengaluru: Customs officials seized Rs 24 crore worth drug Ephedrine weighing 4.75 quintal at Bengaluru international airport on Saturday, sources said. The seized two bags of drug was found with 81 bags containing ammonium chloride in a consignment reached the airport for export.
Ephedrine is a regulated drug under Indian Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. The drug was reportedly found in an export consignment which was checked by the customs officials based on intelligence.
The smugglers were reportedly tried to smuggle drug in the guise of ammonium chloride to Malaysia, reports said. Customs officers are investigating the case to trace culprits.
