Cyclone Okhi affects Coastal districts

Mangaluru/Udupi: Cyclone Okhi has had its impact in costal Karnataka including Udupi and Dakshina Kannada.

On Saturday night, a compound wall of a resort in Ullal collapsed after waves lashed.

People from three houses were evacuated at Kaup.

The tides were rough on the coastal belts at Udyavar Padukere, Gangolli, Padubidri, Kaup, Uchila and Hejamadi. Fishermen were seen trying to shift the boats to safer places. The smaller boats were already shifted to safer places. In Padukere large waves hit the Concrete road.

Water sports and boating facilities to the St Mary’s Island and Malpe have been put on halt.
