Bengaluru: A meeting of all Pradesh Congress Committee presidents, chaired by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, will take place in New Delhi on Tuesday.  Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President and Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar will attend this meeting.

Amidst this, talks about a potential cabinet reshuffle in the state are also emerging, and there is speculation that this issue may also be discussed.

D. K. Shivakumar will travel to Delhi from Bengaluru on the morning of August 13 to attend the meeting. He is expected to return to Bengaluru either on the same night or on Wednesday morning.

With the Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand state assembly elections approaching, there is a possibility that by-elections for three Karnataka assembly constituencies may be announced during this time. Additionally, there is also a need for the Youth Congress elections, and consultations on party organization are likely.

A Call to Protest Against the Central Government?

There is a possibility that a call to protest against the Central Government may be issued, focusing on the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) notice to Rahul Gandhi. The call may urge all states to organize protests and shape public opinion against the Central Government.

The Karnataka Congress has already responded to the BJP-JD(S) rally in Mysore by organizing the “Namma Tharige Namma Hakku” protest in Delhi. Similar protests may be organized in all states following the same pattern.

Whispers of a Cabinet Reshuffle

Recently, AICC General Secretary Venugopal and Karnataka Congress in-charge Randeep Surjewala visited the state. They suggested that steps should be taken to counter the opposition’s allegations, including land distribution by MUDA and fund transfers by the Valmiki Corporation.

They also expressed dissatisfaction with some ministers’ performances and warned that those who do not improve might be dropped from the cabinet. This has led to discontent among several ministers.

Following this, rumors of a cabinet reshuffle have surfaced, and there is a possibility that D. K. Shivakumar will have a separate discussion with the party high command on Tuesday.
