Beltangady: A Hyderabad-based woman who received flak for her portrayal of Daiva Mukhavarnike visited the Dharmasthala temple on November 3 to seek the Lord’s blessings and offered an apology to Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade.
The woman Shweta Reddy had painted her face to resemble the Daiva character in the Kantara movie. She had however put on the Yakshagana attire while portraying the role of Daivaradhaka which triggered outrage among the netizens.
Reacting to the row, Shweta said she mistook the Yakshagana attire to be the same as Daiva Mukhavarnike. Following the criticism on social media, she realized her folly and thus apologized to the Daivaradhakas and coastal Karnataka people for hurting their sentiments.
