Bengaluru: Minister of Kannada and Culture department Sunil Kumar has announced a Rs 2,000 monthly allowance for ‘daiva narthakas’ above 60 years of age.

He further said that the applicants can register themselves in the Kannada and Culture department of their district.

Reacting to Kannada actor-activist Chetan Kumar’s statement about the ‘Bhoota Kola’, Sunil Kumar said, ” Chetan does not know the culture and tradition of the land. He should refrain from talking about our culture. Bhoota Kola is a part of our Hindu culture.”

Kantara, directed by Rishab Shetty, is a thriller rooted in the culture and faith of coastal Karnataka.
