Dakshina Kannada: By-elections announced for 30 gram panchayat seats across 26 villages

Mangaluru: The State Election Commission has announced the schedule for by-elections to fill vacant seats in several Gram Panchayats across Dakshina Kannada district. These seats are currently unoccupied due to various reasons, and the by-elections aim to restore representation.
The by-elections will cover 30 seats across 26 Gram Panchayats in nine taluks of Dakshina Kannada. November 12 has been set as the final date for filing nominations. November 13 is reserved for nomination verification, and candidates have until November 15 to withdraw their nominations.
Voting, if necessary, will take place on November 23, with vote counting scheduled for November 26 at taluk headquarters.
Gram Panchayats Undergoing Elections
- Belthangady Taluk: Ujire, Kuvettu, and Ilanthila Gram Panchayats, each with one vacant seat.
- Mangaluru Taluk: Ganjimata, Adyar, Jokatte, and Neermarga Panchayats with one seat each, while Moodushedde Panchayat has two seats open.
- Bantwal Taluk: Manchi, Perne, Chennaithodi, Sajipamooda, Amtadi, Badaga Bellur Panchayats with one seat each, and two seats in Panjikallu and three in Sajipamunnur Panchayat.
- Sullia Taluk: One seat each in Kollamogru, Mandekolu, and Nellur Kemraje Panchayats.
- Ullal Taluk: One seat in Munnur Panchayat.
- Kadaba Taluk: One seat each in Subrahmanya and Katrappadi Panchayats.
- Puttur Taluk: One seat each in Ariyadka and Kedambadi Panchayats.
- Moodbidri Taluk: One seat in Nellikaru Panchayat.
- Mulki Taluk: One seat in the Haleangadi Panchayat.
