Dakshina Kannada District Congress President Harish Kumar
Mangaluru: Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and Dakshina Kannada District Congress President Harish Kumar clarified that he has not retired from politics, dismissing the rumors as false news spread by miscreants.
Speaking to Udayavani, Harish Kumar stated, “Some miscreants have spread baseless rumors. This news is far from the truth. I attended the Core Committee meeting, distributed sweets for the New Year, and gave a speech. However, I never mentioned resigning at any point.”
Reports claiming that Harish Kumar had submitted his resignation during the Core Committee meeting were published on some websites, which the Congress leader expressed dissatisfaction about.
“I have completed two terms as the District Congress President. I submitted my resignation two years ago, but due to elections and other reasons, the High Command instructed me to continue. I have been serving as President for seven years and seven months now. I will hand over the position as soon as the High Command announces a successor. The question of political retirement does not arise,” Harish Kumar clarified.
