Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district has emerged as the highest user of the Quarantine Watch app.
The app, developed by the Government of Karnataka for effective surveillance of home quarantined primary and secondary contacts of a COVID-19 patient, is being used well in the district.
The app is installed in the smartphones of those home quarantined to keep a tab on their movements and if they are violating their quarantine.
Already, with the help of the app, district officials have registered FIRs against more than 150 people for violating their quarantine.
The Deputy Commissioner’s office stated that they are also planning to send the violators to institutional quarantine after registering FIR against them.
