Dakshina Kannada: Physical classes for 6 to 8 standard students not to begin for now

Mangaluru: In spite of the state government permitting the holding of physical classes for sixth to eighth standards, the Dakshina Kannada district administration has decided not to reopen classes for now.

Clarifying the issue Zilla panchayat chief executive officer, Dr Kumar said that no decision has so far been taken about holding physical classes for 6th to 8th standards in the district.

He further informed that 9th and tenth standards will also not be opened for now and the decision to reopen classes will be taken after holding a meeting if the corona positivity rate continues to decline for several days.

Meanwhile, physical classes for standards 6 to 8 have been opened in Udupi district from Monday. The classrooms have been sanitized for the purposes.
