Dasara Elephant Arjuna to be taken special care during Jumbo Savari event

Mysuru: Dasara Elephant, Arjuna(58) who will be carrying the Golden Howdah on the Vijayadashami day will be taken good care since he would find it stressful if stopped for pictures and selfies.
Arjuna’s caretakers seemed worried that he would be stressed while carrying a the load on his back if the people along the route of the procession gather around him for click pictures and stop him for selfies.
They believe a distance of 10 meters is essential to help them deal with the crowd. “If the howdah elephant halts frequently it will be under great stress,” the caretakers alerted the management.
Deputy Conservator of Forests, Siddaramappa Chalkapure said that they will be deploying personnel from the Yelawala forest training school to regulate the crowds and ensure a distance of 10-meters during the event.
