Dasara holidays won’t be slashed, says UTK

Mangaluru: District in-charge minister UT Khader on Thursday informed that there would be no reduction in the number of Dasara holidays.

A decision in this regards has been taken after holding due consultations with Deputy Commissioner, CEO, and DDPI, he clarified.

Addressing a press conference at Circuit house here, Khader said that instead of undertaking repair works on the collapsed Mullarpatna bridge, a new bridge will be constructed at the spot and that a sum of Rs 50 crore has been sanctioned o the PWD department for this purpose.

Further, he informed that the NHAI has released Rs. 35 crore for the construction of a new bridge at Gurupura and work on the same will begin soon.
