Datta Jayanti Celebration: Sri Ram Sena member taken into preventive custody

Ranjith Shetty, a member of Sri Ram Sena, has been detained by the police after he announced plans to observe Datta Jayanti at Nagenahalli Dargah.
Recently, Gangadhar Kulkarni, the State President of Sri Rama Sena, along with Ranjith Shetty, asserted that Dattapeeth and the Dargah are distinct entities. In response to the Muslim community’s celebration of Urus at Dattapeeth, they declared their intention to mark Datta Jayanti on December 26 at Nagenahalli.
In light of these statements, the district administration has issued an order prohibiting the entry of Sri Ram Sena’s national president, Pramod Muthalik, and state president, Gangadhar Kulkarni, into the district until January 5.
A restriction has also been imposed within a 200-meter radius around Nagenahalli Dargah.
Meanwhile, Ranjith Shetty of Sri Ram Sena has been detained by the police and transported to an undisclosed location as a precautionary measure, given the potential defiance of the district administration’s ban on celebrating Datta Jayanti at Nagenahalli Dargah.
