Dattamala Abhiyana to be held on November 4-10

Mangaluru: The 21st Dattamala Abhiyana campaign, organized by Sri Rama Sene-Karnataka, will take place from November 4 to November 10 this year, with events planned to support the demand for full access to the Dattapeetha. Sri Rama Sene State Secretary Anand Shetty Adyar announced the event schedule in a press conference on Tuesday.

The campaign will feature key events, including the distribution of malas (sacred garlands) on November 4, Dattadeepotsava (lamp lighting) on November 7, Dattapadi collection on November 9, and a grand procession and religious gathering on November 10. The campaign will conclude with the performance of Sri Satya Datta Vrata and Sri Datta Homa at Dattapeetha.

Prominent leaders including Shri Siddalinga Swamiji of Karuneshwar Math, Maharaj Vivek Chintamani of Kambalagiri, and Sri Rama Sene National President Pramod Muthalik are scheduled to attend the events. A group of 1,300 devotees from Dakshina Kannada district will depart from Kadri Maidan on the night of November 9.

The Dattadeepotsava event will be held at Lakshminarayana Temple in PVS, Mangaluru, on November 7, where over ten thousand devotees from across the state are expected to gather.

Demands for Preservation

Anand Shetty Adyar emphasized the demands for relocating “unauthorized Islamic markers” to the original dargah, appointing only Hindu priests at Dattapeetha, and safeguarding Hindu sentiments at the site. Leaders including Sri Rama Sene’s Divisional President Madhusudan Urvastore and District President Arun Kadri were present at the press conference.

Udupi: Over 500 Participants Expected

Udupi: Sri Rama Sene Udupi District President Sudarshan Poojary said that over 500 participants from Udupi will join the Dattamala Abhiyana at Dattapeetha. He reiterated the importance of preserving Hindu sentiments at the historic site.
