Davanagere: Five arrested for abduction of elderly man

Five persons have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping an elderly person and demanding a huge ransom for his release.
KTJ Nagar Police received a complaint that a 60-year-old man named Lokesh was abducted by miscreants in Ambika Nagar on Thursday afternoon. The gang had made a demand for a ransom of Rs 20 Lakhs for his release, the complaint registered by the victim’s son said.
Acting on the complaint, police managed to trace the accused involved in the crime within 24 hours and rescued the elderly man.
Police said they have apprehended 5 persons — identified as Sagar, Yuvaraja, Sundar Naika, Chetan Kumar, and an adolescent. Investigation is underway to uncover the motive behind the crime.
