Davanagere: Home Guard saves passenger from being crushed under moving train

Davangere: A home guard’s quick action saved a passenger who fell while attempting to board a moving train at Davangere Railway Station on Friday.
Radhakrishna, a passenger travelling from Bengaluru to Hubballi on the Jan Shatabdi Express, had alighted at the Davangere station to buy biscuits. As the train began to move, he attempted to board it in haste but slipped and fell, sliding dangerously close to the train.
Home guard N. Lakshman Naik noticed the incident and acted swiftly to pull Radhakrishna to safety. RPF Chief Constable Ashok also assisted in the rescue.
Radhakrishna sustained minor injuries on his cheek and received first aid before continuing his journey to Hubballi on another train. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.
The courageous efforts of Lakshman Naik and Ashok were lauded by the public, railway staff, and officials, highlighting their commitment to passenger safety.
