DC clarifies on taking prior permission before an event

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada DC, Sashikanth Senthil said that there was no need to obtain permission for conducting functions at private properties.

DC clarified saying that there was no need to obtain permission from the return officers to conduct private functions at private properties. Private programs which are not of a private nature do not need require permission.

DC said that private functions which will be held at public places need to take permission prior to the event.

However, Yakshagana organizers have to inform Returning Officer or to the local authority/police station that the programme is not being conducted for any political purpose.
