DC declares holiday for schools in M’luru today amid heavy rains

Mangaluru: As it is raining continuously since yesterday (July 29) night, Dakshina Kannada District Commissioner Dr KV Rajendra declared a holiday for schools in Mangaluru on July 30.

“Mangaluru city corporation area, Ullala, Mulky,Moodabidre and Bantwala taluk had been experiencing heavy rains since yesterday (July 30) night. Considering the safety of the childrens, a holiday has been declared on Saturday throughout Mangaluru Sub division(Mangluru city corporation, Mulky, Moodabidre, Ullala and Bantwala taluk) to all the Anganawadi centers, primary and Highschools. In other places of Puttur Subdivision , decision will be made locally by Tahsildars and BEOs assessing local situation,” a release by DC’s office read.
