DC declares holiday to schools and colleges owing to heavy rains

Mangaluru: The meteorological department alerted the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka to be prepared to face heavy rainfall on Saturday and Sunday.
Dakshina Kannada District, Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil has declared a holiday on Saturday for schools and colleges in the district.
Heavy rains have lashed the city causing damage to property and vegetation beside flooding some areas. Commuters in the district had a harrowing time due to severe traffic snarls. Many low lying areas – Kottara Chowki, Managudda were inundated affecting the daily lives of city dwellers.
