DC directs removal of unauthorised banners prior to elections

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada DC Sashikanth Senthil has directed to remove all the unauthorized banners, hoardings in the district.

Addressing a meeting held at DC office, DC informed that before erecting any banners they need to seek permission from the respective officials during the next two months. Strict action will be taken against the ones who will violate the rules, he said.

DC said that EVMs would be used for the upcoming elections along with VVPAT so that no doubt arises, he said. He also warned that stern action would follow against officials who use mobile phones while on election duty.

Additional DC  Kumar, City Police Commissioner T R Suresh, MCC Commissioner Mohammad Nazeer,  Assistant Commissioner Renuka Prasad, Additional SP Sajeeth and officials of various departments were present.
