DC visits houses, distributes voters’ slips

DC meets 97-year-old voter

Udupi: Deputy commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati visited houses at Udupi Mission Compound and near Ammanni Ramanna Hall and distributed voters’ slips. The DC met families and informed them of the date of elections and requested them to cast their votes without fail.

The DC informed that all necessary arrangements have been made for those without Elector’s Photo identity Card (EPIC) card. Such individuals can exercise their franchise by taking any other identification document mentioned by the Election Commission.

Informing about the VVPAT, the DC asked the people not reveal information about the party or candidate they are voting for. She also requested to immediately inform if anybody attempted to lure voters by giving gifts.

Voters’ slip was handed over to a 97-year-old lady residing near Ramanna Hall by the DC who also asked the BLO to mark her name, provide vehicle and make other arrangements in order to facilitate her to the polling booth.

DC directed the BLO’s to complete the distribution of slips and make sure that no voter is deprived of voters’ list.
