Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said that the government would offer free Covid19 treatment to patients who get admitted to private hospitals here.
The decision was taken at a meeting, held with Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan in Bengaluru to discuss the increasing coronavirus cases in the district.
District Deputy Commissioner, health authorities, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Harish Poonja and UT Khader participated in the meeting via video conferencing.
The Deputy chief minister said that 25,000 Rapid antigen test kits would be supplied to the district immediately. 15 ambulances also would be sanctioned on immediate basis.
The district administration will make arrangements for free treatment of a Covid-19 infected person at a private hospital if deemed necessary. For this the patient has to approach a nearby government hospital initially.
