DCPs to be responsible for containment zones and sealed areas: Bommai

Bengaluru: Speaking after a meeting with the Chief Minister, Minister for Home Affairs Basavaraj Bommai stated that lockdown enforcement responsibility will now be with the respective DCPs in the containment zone and sealed areas.

He said that night curfew and people and vehicle traffic will be strictly regulated in the wake of the rise in COVID-19 cases.

A blueprint for BBMP, Police Department, Home Guard and volunteers in the city to work in coordination. Night curfew will be from 8 am to 5 pm. To implement this and other guidelines more than 60,000 volunteers have registered, he added.

Asked if the lockdown was necessary in view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the city, Bommai replied that sealdown was in essence lockdown.
