Dead body of Vijayapura Cong leader found dumped near bridge

Vijayapura: The dead body of Vijayapura Congress leader Reshma Padekanur was found near Kolar bridge here on Friday morning.

While the exact cause of her death is yet to be ascertained, police suspect that Reshma was murdered on Thursday night and her body was disposed near the bridge.

Kolar police have begun investigations and have summoned her relatives.

It is learnt that Reshma had a close association with an AIMIM leader from Maharashtra and was last seen with him on Thursday.

Reshma had joined Congress party in 2018 and was active during the recent Lok Sabha elections. Prior to joining Congress she was associated with the JD(S) and had also contested 2013 state Assembly Elections.
